We Shoot Horses!!!

Until about 15 years ago I had no idea what a horse was, simple, one end bites and the other end kicks, now, thanks to two daughters and a wife we have paddocks full of them, or so it seems.

In 1974 I completed my BA in Photography Science Stream and worked professionally for a number of years covering such things as geological survey, engineering graphics, PC board design as well as some sports coverage and would dive for cover at the word 'wedding'.

There is also the magazine work covering shoots for 4WD and Fishing magazines and some work for The Age and Herald Sun, a brief encounter with National Geographic and advertising with a mens glossy.

A little later when daughters arrived on the scene we went through the inevitable 'Dad, I want a pony', I gave in, after all it would only last a couple of weeks and it would all be over, that was in 1995 and the interest grows.

That was my start in equine work, shooting the girls (maybe I should have done, it would have been cheaper) at Pony Club at weekends, and the rest as they say, is history.

Cameras

  Full colour as viewed

We use Nikon cameras coupled with a variety of Nikon and Sigma lens.

Currently we are using Nikon Pro cameras

D3

D700

D300s

All are excellent cameras and shoot RAW.

Processed using Photoshop and/or Paintshop Pro as required to correct the image.

This is essential as RAW images need to be processed before final printing, colours and contrast need to be optimised, it is not a subjective matter and any photographer who claims they do not need later processing is most likely shooting JPEG.

This will not yield optimum results, the final product is JPEG after processing.

Emailed proofs are not corrected or cropped.

Prints

  Retro look

Samples are available on site so please feel free to have a look.

We still use the photo labs for printing after the event and the quality is excellent.

We offer up to 20x30 and larger upon request.

Wedding Photography

We are now taking wedding bookings starting at $1250 for a full day coverage, more details on the wedding page.
